Beauty Salons in Enfield (Middlesex)
27-28 The Town
My 17 year old daughter wanted to treat herself to eyelash extensions for christmas as she has always been bothered that hers are short, so on christmas eve she went to have this done at Lashious in enfield town. When she returned home she complained that the lashes didn't look good, were uncomfortable and that she had been told to keep her eyes open even when the glue was going in her eyes and her eyes were watering throughout. When I inspected the lashes I could see why my daughter was unhappy, the eyelashes were pointing too straight out rather than upwards with lashes poking into her eye lid skin and there were a few unsightly clumps of yellow glue that were so far down the lid that they were in contact with her eye, and glue had been put on her bottom lashes causing some of them to clump together stiffly and uncomfortably and some of her bottom lashes were stuck to the top lashes in the corners which she had to force apart with an eyelash comb. The next day (christmas day) my daughter woke up with very irritated eyes, one being very bloodshot and both feeling like there was something in them. By the evening the irritation had become unbearable, and when inspecting her eye further to see if there was anything in it she became very distressed when we discovered what appeared to be blobs of the glue in her eye which she had to remove with a cotton bud and she had to pull off the clumps of eyelashes and glue. I then gave her some saline eye drops to try and wash her eye out but she still feels there is more in her eye and I have had to send her to bed with a patch over her eye to try and rest it with the hope it will feel better in the morning otherwise we will have to visit casualty. From researching how eyelash extensions should be applied, the lower lashes and lid should be covered with tape to prevent glue getting on them and them sticking to the top lids and then the eyelashes should be applied with the eye closed and applied resting on the lashes not digging into the skin, and if the glue is going into the eye and causing irritation then the procedure should be stopped. I am furious that this salon have been so unprofessional, have risked damaging my daughter eyes and caused her such discomfort that spoiled her christmas. Please don't trust that these and other salons are operating at a professional standard, or that they are using safe products, your eyes as they are far too precious.
